Modernization of Koton’s Data Platform with Google Cloud
Oredata and Koton collaborated using Google Cloud Platform products to develop data pipelines and AI models. In this project, the specified data sources gained the opportunity of central management, querying and modeling.

Koton started with a 25 square-meter store opened in 1988 in Kuzguncuk, Istanbul, continue its story as an international fashion and retail brand today. They are the fashion and retail pioneer of Turkiye with their collections reflecting the latest trends.

The Challenge
In Koton's current structure, data was stored in a different system. The main goal was to run artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms from this data. Since in-house systems did not allow this, the data in the existing system had to be transferred to the GCP environment. In addition, workflows had to be monitored and planned.
The Solution
Prepared pipelines using fully managed services to move data from the on-prem system to BigQuery and scheduled transfers at requested periods. A solution for business needs was provided with a sustainable, scalable, manageable and high-performance structure. Training was given on machine learning and Artificial Intelligence products.
The Result
The regular transfers of DWH tables from the on-premise system to the Google Cloud environment have been completed. These transfers include both historical and daily data. Control of the transfers has been ensured via Cloud Composer, providing the ability to intervene in case of errors. AI and ML training sessions have been conducted using the transferred tables.
